Fire your boss, do what you love and work better to live more. You can change your job to change your life.
Read The $100 Startup if you are sick of the 9 to 5 and/or want to start a “side hustle”. There’s ample inspiration to start on “the quest to personal freedom” but it is not too preachy. Easy to digest, specific and straightforward advice with interesting real-life examples.
One of my takeaways is the simple recognition that there are very few barriers to starting a business. You don’t need capital or a loan, and you don’t need to become the next snapchat. It is easy to create and start online almost instantly. The main barrier is indecision.
I also liked the exercise of skill transformation and convergence. One of the central ideas of the book is to merge your passion and skill with something that is useful for other people.
“Focus relentlessly on the point of convergence between what you to love to do and what other people are willing to pay for.”
“To start a business, you only need 3 things: a product or service, a group of people willing to pay for it, and a way to get paid.”
